The community of Dominican friars of the house “Santuario San Martin de Porres” celebrated the Eucharistic of Diaconal ordination of fr. Moises Díaz, OP, on December 15. Monsignor Ángel Caraballo, auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Maracaibo, ordained him with the consecratory prayer and the imposition of the hands.
The Eucharistic was accompanied by a large group of Dominican brothers who came from different communities. Fr. Bonifacio García Solís , OP, Prior Provincial, Fr. José Ángel Legido, Syndic of the Province, Fr. Kleyver García, OP, Vicar of the Provincial in Venezuela, Fr. José Gregorio, Fr. Edixandro and Fr. Julián. And the brothers of the community of Maracaibo Fr. Ángel Villasmil and Fr. Nelson Rodríguez.
The parochial temple was decorated for the occasion with some floral ornaments - not very ostentatious-. The celebration also had many parishioners from the parish community and the various apostolic groups; the parish choir formed by a large group of brothers and several musical instruments, guitar, cuatro, bass, tamorine and piano.
In the homily, the Bishop made a very moving review of the vocational process of Fr. Moisés. He talked about the diaconal ministry, and moment thanks the Order of Preachers for all the ecclesial service the Dominicans perform in the Archdiocese.
Before the final blessing, the new Deacon gave thanks to God and to all those people present for having accompanied him in his ordination and for been praying for him in that important moment of his life. After the blessing of the Bishop, some official photos of all the priests were taking with the new Deacon and some gaitaswere sung, which is the typical song of the Zuliana land.
The celebration ended with a fraternal meal with the family of Fr. Moisés, an the parishioners.
