We sorrow, we inform that Fr. Eusebio Martínez Peña, OP has died at midnight on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. He has not been able to overcome the diseases that afflicted him for a long time ago. He passes away after being hospitalized for several days.
Eusebio Martínez Peña was born in Caleruega, Burgos - Spain, on August 14, 1931. He completed his elementary studies in La Mejorada, Olmedo Valladolid and Santa María Nieva, Segovia.
He completed his novitiate at the Convent of Santo Domingo, Ocaña - Toledo in the period 1948-1949. And he made his first profession on September 9, 1949. He began his institutional studies in philosophy at the Royal Convent of Santo Tomás, Ávila; and studied Theology at Walbergerg, bei Köln, Germany.
Father Eusebio worked hard in building the Kingdom of God contributing with his knowledge in Clinical Psychology Consultation, especially in marital crises cases. In addition, he carried out pastoral work with various groups of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, he was the ordinary confessor of the Monastery of Santa Catalina in Madrid. Also, he was a professor of psychology and anthropology at the Institutes of Santo Tomás de Madrid, president of the same Institutes, and professor of psychology at the School of Social Assistants and Commission of Studies and Research. He was also a psychologist in a group to help drug addicts at La UVA de Hortaleza with evangelical teachings, and server of the marriage group of the R.C.C of Madrid.
As everyone knows, the law prevents participation in funeral acts, so the funeral institutions will take over the processes for now. By returning our lives to normality, the Community will celebrate funeral liturgical acts in an appropriate way. For now, we ask you to pray for the eternal rest of Fr. Eusebio Martínez Peña and to accompany with your prayers our brothers from the Convent San Pedro Mártir, they are experiencing a very painful moment.
The Lord gives the reward of the righteous to our Brother Fr. Eusebio Martínez Peña, OP who helped many people by assisting them to calm the pain, especially the psychological one. God receive him in His eternal home.
