Fray Aureliano de la Fuente Camino was born in Valdecolmenas de Abajo, Cuenca, Spain on March 21, 1940. He joined the apostolic school La Mejorada, Olmedo in1953, but the following year moved to Arcas Reales, Valladolid from 1954 to1958. From an early age, he felt called to the Dominican Life and was accepted as a postulant to the Province of Our Lady of the Rosary, Order of Friars Preachers. He completed his novitiate year at the Convent of Santo Domingo, Ocaña - Toledo in 1958-1959.

After the novitiate year, Fray Aureliano made religious profession on August 6, 1959. After his first profession, it was necessary for him to begin the institutional studies of Philosophy and Theology. First, he took up the propaedeutic year in the Priory of Santo Tomás, Ávila during the school year in 1959-1960 and continued with Philosophy at the Convent of San Pedro Mártir from 1960 to 1963. Afterward, he went back to the Priory of Santo Tomas, Avila where he enrolled in Theology from 1963 to 1968.

Fray Aureliano de la Fuente Camino, OP, was ordained to the priesthood on July 17, 1966, in Ávila. Fray Aureliano obtained the following degrees: Bachelor of Philosophy (1963); Diploma in Catechesis (1967); Diploma in Pastoral (1968). And Diploma in Spiritual Theology at the Angelicum, Rome (1988-1989).

Those who have known Fray Aureliano will always remember his simplicity and ability to enter into a friendly conversation. His constant service and availability to help others in their needs. He always maintained a fraternal relationship with his brothers in the community because of his outgoing character and innate kindness. It is possible that his responsibilities as a parish priest, spiritual director of the Legion of Mary, Neo catechumenate, and the apostolate might help him to develop these communication skills. He was, with all certainty, a man of words.

Fray Aureliano was sent to Venezuela where he assumed the following responsibilities and ministries: Parish Vicar in San Juan de Payara, San Rafael de Atamaica, and Cunaviche in Apure, from 1970 to 1973. Professor at the San Juan Lateran School in San Fernando de Apure. (1972-1973); Parochial vicar of the Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Guasdualito Parish in the state of Apure for seven years. After that mission experience in Apure, Aureliano was assigned to Barinas as parochial vicar of the Parish of Our Lady of Carmen in 1978. Upon completing one year in Barinas, he became Parish Priest of Our Lady of Altagracia in the state of Zulia. From Maracaibo, he was assigned to Colegio San Martín in Caracas to work as a teacher and administrator from 1989 to 2005. However, he was also an assistant to the syndic of the Province in Venezuela from 1994 to 2004. Upon completion of the tenure of these jobs, Fray Aureliano was assigned to Rubio, Táchira, to carry out the task of Parochial Vicar of the Santo Domingo Parish for one year (2007-2008), but he was again elected as the assistant to the provincial syndic in Venezuela from 2008 to 2011. Fray Aureliano, once again, accepted to be assigned to Táchira to work as parochial vicar of the Santo Domingo Parish, where he remained from 2012 to 2014. At the end of 2014, he was transferred to the parish of Espíritu Santo in Barquisimeto, where he worked as a parochial vicar. This was his last assignment before he returned to Spain due to poor health.

Aureliano de la Fuente Camino passed away at the Priory of Santo Tomas, Avila, on July 7, 2020, while the brothers of the community prayed and sang the Salve at his side. His health had been deteriorating quite fast during the confinement. This affected his diabetes and dementia. In the middle of the night, he suffered a heart attack and passed away early in the morning in the hands of some brothers who were able to say goodbye to him as they also prayed in his presence.

His remains will be at the Tanatario Antonio Álvarez in Ávila. He was buried on July 8, at 11:30 a.m. in the cemetery of Ávila and the funeral was held in the Parish Church at 01:00 pm.
