On the 25th of July 2021, the Feast of St. James, the community of Saint Joseph’s House, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong, celebrated the Solemn Profession of the three brothers: Bro. Richard Htoo, OP., Bro. Gabriel Robinson Kyaw Ko Ko, OP., and Bro. Saw Justin Kaung Hbown Myint, OP.

The Holy Eucharistic was presided by Fr. Bonifacio García Solís, the Prior Provincial of the Province of Our Lady of the Rosary. It was concelebrated by the priests of the House of St. Joseph. There were some brothers and faithful present during the Mass. The three brothers made Solemn Profession at the hand of the Prior Provincial.

In his homily, Fr. Bonifacio congratulated the three newly professed brothers for their generous response to God’s call. In the course of his homily, he said “Here I am, O Lord, I come to do your will. Seeking God’s will require a humble and honest listening to the inner voice of his Word and the inspirations of the Holy Spirit mediated through the vow of obedience. It is through this full determination to be and become God’s absolute possession that you are to give yourselves freely to Him.” He also gave thanks to the parents, the community, and the formators of the newly professed brothers for their support and prayers.

Solemn profession is an important step on the journey of life in the Dominican Order. He added that the three newly professed brothers must always strive to implement God’s Will, not their own in the future mission. Thus, let us pray that Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Martyrs of the Province, accompany, protect, and guide them that they may live out their vocation faithfully in the Dominican Order.
