STUDIUM 2024, 2ND ISSUE

The second number of the Province’s Quarterly Journal STUDIUM has come off the press. As usual, the issue publishes some interesting and varied articles. In this issue, five meaty articles or essays in all. An enriching Bibliography closes Number (Fascículo) 2 (2024).   

The first article is written by Fr. Stephen Saw Lej Kapaw  Htoo OP and is entitled: La presencia de la Orden de Predicadores y la labor apostólica de los Frailes Dominicos  en Birmania.

The second article is authored by D. Vicente Jara Vera OP. Its title: Los fenómenos paranormales a la luz de la ciencia.

The author od the third essay is Isabel María Gómez Ruiz. It is entitled La familia, “Iglesia doméstica”.

The fourth text is titled Los santuarios: remansos de fe, experiencias de misión. Its author is one of the columns of STUDIUM, Professor Jesús-Ángel Barreda OP.

The fifth and last article is authored by Hilario Plureh OP, with the title Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL).

 It is notable to underline that the authors of the first and the last articlesif this issue are young Dominicans from Myanmar, who were students in the Province’s Studentate and Center of Studies in Macau. After finishing his institutional studies in Macau, Fr. Stephen studied in Salamanca and Fr. Hilario continues pursuing his post-graduate studies in Rome.

The current Editor (Director) of STUDIUM is Fr. Mario Jabares OP, Regent of Studies of the Province.

Until some years ago, STUDIUM (64 years old) was wholly published in Spanish. From 2016 on, it also generally includes one or two - or more - articles in English. The Quarterly Journal of Philosophy and Theology, STUDIUM, is under the Dominican Province of the Hoy Rosary, in which the two official languages are now Spanish and English.
